DORM BUDDY™
Where it all started...
Like many great ideas, TSD's Dorm Buddy™ is an innovative and simple solution to a common dilemma. As an undergrad, TSD's co-founder Billy needed more space in his dorm room to fit his bulky textbooks and TV. So, he built a shelf to fit on top of the school-issued desk hutch. With the shelf, Billy now had significantly more room to fit all of his belongings. And, his dorm was neater and felt more spacious, too! Melissa and Jessica (TSD's co-founders) saw how well Billy's shelf worked and wanted their own so that they too could maximize their space and stay organized. These shelves transformed Billy, Melissa, & Jessica's dorm rooms and evolved into TSD's Dorm Buddy™.
TSD's Dorm Buddy™ provides additional surface area in your dorm room/apartment in a simple, safe, and aesthetically pleasing way. Made from high-quality lumber, TSD's sleek design lies flat on top of the school-issued desk hutch for a secure fit. Store your textbooks, TVs, electronics, printers, beauty items, and toiletries, and/or display photos and other belongings to make your room feel like home.
The length of the Dorm Buddy™ is adjustable with TSD's Buddy Bracket™, allowing for a snug fit on different desk hutch sizes. The Dorm Buddy™ is also equipped with a safety fastener, which ensures that your shelf remains securely in place.

DORM BUDDY PLUS™

TSD's Dorm Buddy Plus™ is another innovative and simple solution to a common dilemma. What do you do with all of those bulky college textbooks?!?! The Dorm Buddy Plus™ is your answer! This shelf has a back and sides to hold all of your books and notebooks in place, as well as your other belongings. Maximizing space in your dorm room/apartment and staying organized has never been so easy!
Like the Dorm Buddy™, TSD's Dorm Buddy Plus™ provides additional surface area in your dorm room/apartment in a simple, safe, and aesthetically pleasing way. Made from high-quality lumber, TSD's sleek design lies flat on top of the school-issued desk hutch for a secure fit with extended side and back supports. BUDDY BRACKET™
Designed to ensure a snug fit for your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™.
Every Dorm Buddy™ and Dorm Buddy Plus™ is equipped with two Buddy Brackets™. The Buddy Bracket™ allows the Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ shelves to adjust in length to accommodate the various school-issued desk hutches. To use your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ , simply place the Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ on top of the school-issued desk hutch. If it fits, that means that TSD's Buddy Bracket™ is hard at work ensuring a snug fit.
If the hutch seems too long and your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ does not fit, don't worry. Just remove one or both of the Buddy Brackets™. To do so, flip your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ over onto a flat surface and, using a Philips-head screwdriver, simply unscrew the Buddy Bracket™ on either side. If the hutch is still too long, unscrew the Buddy Bracket™ on the other side. Next, place your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ on the hutch for a snug fit. Be sure to store your Buddy Brackets™ and screws in a safe place for future use!
For most desk hutches, you should expect to have a small amount of wiggle room (~1/4") between your desk hutch and your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ on either side (even after removing your Buddy Bracket™).

TSD'S SAFETY FASTENER
Securing your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™.
Every Dorm Buddy™ and Dorm Buddy Plus™ is equipped with a safety fastener to ensure that your shelf remains securely in place. TSD's safety fastener consists of two knobs (one on the shelf's left underside, the other on the shelf's left exterior) and one elastic. Both knobs are pre-attached to your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ and are produced by Sailrite. The elastic is pre-attached to the knob on the underside of your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™.
To secure your Dorm Buddy™ / Dorm Buddy Plus™ on the desk hutch, simply connect the two knobs by looping the elastic around the exterior knob. You're all set!
